Review - Futureheads at Sheffield Leadmill
On Monday night I was lucky enough to catch the Futureheads at Leadmill, and I’m pleased to say that they did not disappoint. Opening with new tracks The Chaos and Heartbeat Song the band were brilliant from the start, and the crowd were just as good, responding well to the new material scattered throughout the set despite new album “The Chaos” being only a week old.
It was songs from the bands début which got the biggest responses though, with He Knows and Hounds of Love both inducing massive crowd sing-alongs. The band only played one song from the unfairly overlooked “News and Tributes”, the excellent Skip To The End, but it got a great response.
As if the main set wasn’t good enough, the band’s encore featured perhaps my two favourite Futureheads songs. Throughout the night several people (me included) had been shouting for b-side and fan favourite Piece of Crap, and not only were we treated to this but we got to hear début album highlight Le Garage. All in all, one of the best gigs I’ve been to in a long while.
You can watch main set closer Jupiter below.
Setlist (Order might be slightly wrong, but it’s from my rubbish drunken memory)
