Ash - Return of White Rabbit

I like Ash, there, I said it. Their last album was a bit of a flop, agreed, and the coincidental announcement that they wouldn’t be bringing out any more albums (in favour of singles) after their worst album ever failed to get any kudos, perhaps was not so coincidental after all. But they’re a great band (see Free All Angels and Meltdown for details), and this is largely due to Wheelers capability to write a good single. Even the aforementioned final album had 3 good singles on it. So today, Ash have announced how being a ‘singles only’ band is going to work;
“From September, each fortnight for the next twelve months, Ash will release a single on limited 7” vinyl and digital download… Commencing with ‘A’ and running through the alphabet, all 26 songs will be released on Ash’s own Atomic Heart Records and will be available through shops and by subscription”
It’s an interesting idea, and if they can bring out 26 Shining Lights then they’re onto a winner. It’s a big investment though, I’m not sure they have many fans that will subscribe to the whole 26 songs.
To launch this project, a new track (not part of the 26 songs) called Return of White Rabbit is available for free download, check it out….
